CivilDev
Cookies and device storage
Updated 1 October 2026
Cookies and browser storage help CivilDev sign you in, remember your choices and save unfinished work. You can choose separately whether to share page usage and page speed measurements below. Both are off until you allow them. Blocking essential storage may stop sign-in or saved preferences from working.
| Storage | Purpose and duration |
|---|---|
| Auth.js sign-in and security cookies | Keep your account session and secure sign-in. The session may last up to 30 days; short-lived security cookies may also be set during sign-in. |
| Theme and sidebar cookies | Remember display choices. Theme lasts up to one year and may also be held in local storage by the theme library; sidebar choice is a browser-session cookie. |
| Form drafts and assistant history | Browser storage can keep unfinished forms and your Devy assistant conversation on this device until you clear them or browser data. Some temporary navigation messages use session storage. |
| Optional measurement choices | Local storage remembers your choices for page usage and page speed until you change them or clear browser data. |
Your optional choices
No choice saved yet. Both optional measurements are off.
Needed for the site
Sign-in, saved drafts and display settings need some browser storage. These stay on so the site works.
CivilDev uses Vercel for these optional measurements. Page usage helps us see visits to different pages; page speed helps us find slow loading and interaction. Vercel says its Web Analytics works without third-party cookies. We still wait for your choice before loading either tool. Read Vercel's Web Analytics privacy information and Speed Insights metrics guide. External features such as Google sign-in and maps may handle information under their own notices when you use them. The mobile app uses device storage for sessions, drafts and notification preferences rather than browser cookies.
